Example:
"As you grow, you learn more, if you stayed twenty-two, you'd always be as ignorant as you were at twenty-two. Aging is not just decay you know, it's growth" (Albom, 118).
I like this quote because I agree with Morrie that each year I grow older, I learn a little bit more about myself and what I want out of life, much moreso than when I was in high school or college. I still don't have it all figured out, but I have more "peace of mind" than I did at 18 or 21. This doesn't mean I'm looking forward to wrinkles and broken hip bones, but I am looking forward to the wisdom that comes with old age. ~Ms. S.

"as long as we can love each other and remember the feeling of love we had, we can die with out ever really going away. all the love you created is still there. all the memories are still ther. you live on in the hearts of everyone you have touched and nurtured while you were here"
i like this quote because normally we think when we die we are totally gone, but we don't realize that we stay in the thoughts of the people we love. i think if we all thought this we would be less afrad of dying.

"forgive yourself. forgive others, not everyone gets the time i'm getting." p.167
this quoter is pretty cool because morrie is saying that life is funner without holding grudges. it shouldn't be about being a jerk and not showing respect. living with regret is just as bad.

"...as long as we love eachother and remember the feeling of love we had we can die without ever really going away. All the love you created is still here. All the memories are still here. You live on in the hearts of everyone you have touched and nurtured while you were here." --- Page 174
This quote stood out for me because usually when we think of death we think about how much we are going to miss the person that is. Although a life is temporary, along with our loved ones. Memories and love are continual and can never fade, or be taken away. So, when someone close to us is dying, we have to be confident in the memories and love that they're leaving us with, because that's what we're going to have left after they pass away.
"Accept what you are able to do and what you are not able to do." (Albom, 18)
I think this is a good quote because Morrie is basically saying that we should accept ourselves the way we are. We shouldn't dwell on what we can't do but accept that fact that we tried but weren't as good at something as other people are.

"i believe in being fully present... that means you should be with the person you're with. keep focus on what happening between you. not what happened last week or what is going to happen tomorrow."
i like this quote because it reminds me of my best friend. she taught me how to look people in the eye when i talk to them. when you look people in the eye while talking to them it's easier to give them your full attention, and then they can tell that all that matters is whats going on between you and them. it helps them feel the care and love you are giving. actually being mentally present makes a big diference.

"The face is, you are going to die eventually. It won't matter what you tell yourself."
When i think about dying, i get scared. I realize there's no way to avoid it, because it happens to everyone. But I say to myself I'm young, it won't happen for a long time. That still doesn't get me away from it though. Morrie is right, we need to just except it and move on so we can live a good life worry free about when it's going to end.
"All Right,it's just fear,I don't have to let it control me.I see it for what is."
I like this quote because it tells you to not be afraid of fear. You have to overcome it.Don't let it control you. If you try hard enough you can overcome fear itself.

"People haven't found meaning in their lives,so they're running all the time looking for it.They think the next car, next house,or job. Then they find that those things are empty, too, and they keep running"
This quote stood out to me because peoplein this world think that they know waht life is, but they don't know and that is what makes people look for it.
"...love is how you stay alive, even after you are gone."
I am very inspired by this quote because i never thought about death like that before. Just because you are physically not here anymore does not mean that you are gone forever. You live on in the hearts of those who love you. Then when they share memories and stories about you, you will live on in the next generation and continue to live on. This is such a good way to look at death. I will always remember this quote.

"...If you've found meaning in your life, you don't want to go back. You want to go forward. You want to see more, do more."
I chose this quote because it defines your life. If you've accomplished your missions, you wouldn't want to go back in time and change anything. You'd want to move on and experience new levels in life. Regrets are the only reason why you would want to go back.
Eric Larson
"All right , it's just fear, I don't have to let it control me. I see it for what it is."pg 105
i like this quote because it is telling us that we should not let fera control what we do and that we should have fun doing new things not letting fear control us.

"Death ends a life, not a relationship."
When someone dies the memories that you have of them lives on and you can still continue to love them. Just because one dies does not mean that the impact that their lives had on the world has to die with them.
Rachael Snell
"death ends life, not a relationship"
I think this quote means that when someone passes on, they've gone from life to death. But even though they're no longer breathing, their relationships live on for them. Just because they died, doesn't mean all of their memories went with them. When they were alive, they made memories with the still living, and those won't die. Those still living just won't be able to make new memories. Once you die not all of you is gone because you are still alive in everyone that you knew.
Kendra Krepel
"Okay. This is fear. Step away from it. Step away."
I like this quote because it's something I wish i could do easily. Like if I'm afraid to do a skill in gymnastics, i should just be able to acknowledge the fear, and then step away from it and do the skill anyway.

"We're number one! We're number one!"
"What's wrong with being number two?"
page 159
ah, sports. One of the greatest obbsessions of our culture, especially winning at sports. Everybody always LOVES to win, and nobody likes to lose. Morrie can see through this though. Like he says, what's wrong with being number 2? As long as you played well, tried your best, and had fun, that's all that matters.

"Ah, Mitch, I'm gonna loosen you up. One day I'm gonna show you its okay to cry."
This quote reminds me of our lives that we have now.
People who are in control of their emotions are usually treated better. If a person doesn't freak out at anyone people respect them more. Control of emotions-or not showing any at all- is taught to be a good trait to have. But morrie is just saying that that is what society is preaching and dont fall into that because emotions are okay.

"love each other or perish" p.91
i think this is a great quote becuase it shows without love we are nothing and out life is meaningless. It is like we are birds with broken wings if we dont have love for one another.
ashley williams
"death ends a life, not a relationship."
i think this quote means that when someone dies, it doesnt mean they're completely gone. you'll always have memories of them and their spirit will live on.

"Mitch, is it possible for the old not to envy the young. But the issue is to accept who you are and revel in that"
